Every step forward matters in the pursuit of high-efficiency, low-carbon carbon fiber production. Today, we are pleased to announce that the JINGGONG Technology Carbon Fiber Research Institute has successfully completed pilot validation of its independently developed hot air-microwave multi-physical field coupled pre-oxidation technology!
Innovation Breakthrough: China’s First Multi-Field Coupled Pre-Oxidation Pilot Oven Successfully Developed
Pre-oxidation has long been the key bottleneck restricting quality and efficiency improvement in the carbon fiber industry, as it accounts for the highest energy consumption and longest cycle in PAN-based carbon fiber manufacturing.
Today, we are breaking through this bottleneck through relentless innovation. Leveraging hot-air microwave multi-physics coupling, we have designed and built China’s first 0.4m-wide hot-air microwave multi-field coupled pre-oxidation pilot furnace. By synergistically regulating the thermal and microwave electric fields inside the oven, we have achieved substantial acceleration and energy savings in the pre-oxidation stage.

The oven features an end-to-end air circulation design and an innovative proprietary microwave energy feeding structure and cavity layout. This ensures uniform microwave field distribution across the oven width even under thermal expansion, while maintaining high consistency in temperature and wind velocity fields — laying a solid foundation for stable and continuous pre-oxidation of the fiber.

Pilot Validation: Remarkable Energy Savings & Speedup, Clear Scaling Potential
Pilot results confirm performance consistent with lab-scale tests, with highly encouraging outcomes: Under the same temperature gradient, the pre-oxidation cycle is shortened by 30% vs. conventional industrial hot-air processes; unit energy consumption is reduced by 13%–15%, delivering significant economic and environmental benefits.

Notably, based on production data modeling and similarity principle analysis, scaling up to a 3m-wide industrial unit is projected to cut energy consumption by 20%–25% compared with conventional production. This technology demonstrates clear potential for large-scale promotion.

Comparison of Results With/Without Microwave at 230℃
Throughout R&D and pilot validation, the team has systematically established a comprehensive engineering system covering structural design, field coupling control, and process matching. A reusable, scalable modular knowledge base and parameter database have been formed, supporting rapid development and engineering of wider-width equipment.
This breakthrough will not remain in the lab. Leveraging validated data and technical reserves, JINGGONG Technology is advancing full-process design and validation of a 3m-wide industrial grade hot-air microwave multi-field coupled pre-oxidation oven. Its successful implementation will deliver a more efficient, energy-saving and green future for domestic carbon fiber equipment.
