On January 2, 2026, JINGGONG Technology’s first 5,000-tonne-per-annum high-performance carbon fiber precursor production line was successfully developed and put into operation. This marks a major breakthrough in breaking foreign technological blockades in high-end carbon fiber precursor equipment, representing a critical step toward localized, large-scale, independent and controllable development.

 

Tackling Key Challenges in the Development of Precursor Equipment

 

The line is built on JINGGONG’s proprietary core technologies. Construction and equipment customization were carried out in parallel from day one, with 30 single buildings and off-site facilities completed across three phases, which fully demonstrates the company’s outstanding turnkey delivery capability for full-line equipment systems.

During equipment installation, confronted with complex piping and the commissioning of thousands of instruments and valves, the technical team achieved millimeter-precision alignment and integration. A full closed loop spanning R&D, manufacturing and stable operation was formed, ensuring successful commissioning on the first try and providing a replicable engineering model for the industrialization of high-performance precursors in China.

 

Technology Leadership Sets a Benchmark for Domestic Precursor Equipment

 

This 5,000 TPY precursor line embodies over a decade of technological accumulation in carbon fiber. As a leading domestic provider of full-chain high-end equipment system solutions, JINGGONG has built a national-level R&D center since 2013, achieved full localization of carbon fiber equipment in 2020, and delivered more than 50 carbon fiber lines with No.1 market share in China and global leadership.

 

 

The line adopts JINGGONG’s proprietary one-step process, greatly simplifying flows and significantly improving PAN fiber quality. Polymerization conversion exceeds 90%, with low side reactions and uniform molecular weight distribution, laying a solid foundation for stable high-performance precursor production. Advanced dry-jet wet spinning and high-ratio steam drawing are applied, delivering high fiber density with spinning speeds of 200–400 m/min.

 

Independent Technology Empowers New Upgrades of the Carbon Fiber Industry

 

The successful development and commissioning have filled a key domestic technological gap, marking another milestone in advancing the localization of high-performance carbon fiber and providing valuable experience for future iteration and large‑scale production.

 

High-performance carbon fiber is widely used in aerospace, energy equipment, automotive, high-end sports goods, medical devices and more, supporting national strategies including low-altitude economy and transportation lightweighting. As a core green and low-carbon industry, large-scale precursor production will strongly drive downstream energy conservation and emission reduction, contributing to China’s “Dual Carbon” goals.
